My nephew wants to play golf. But we don’t know what kind of golf clubs is suitable for the beginner? Can you help us?
Are titanium golf clubs good for a beginner?
April 25th, 2010I have been offered a cheap second hand set of titanium golf clubs from a friend.
Are titanium clubs okay for a beginner to use? The set is from the Dunlop Vista 2 range .
Thanks – from a new golfer!
What is the best set of golf clubs for a left handed beginner?
February 2nd, 2010I want to purchase my first set of golf clubs. I have not been golfing too many times but I am pretty athletic and a quick learner. I am not trying to be a pro but would like to have fun. I usually spend a little more than average on my sporting equipment because usually you can get better quality and if nothing else at least it makes you more confident. I want to spend around $1000.00 on clubs and I am wondering what else I should buy shoes, bag, glove, etc. I would also like to know the basics when it comes to club selection, offset, shaft length, stiffness, etc. Someone who could summerize for me would be great!!!
What specific golf clubs does a beginner need to play?I know you need a driver and a putter but what else?
December 29th, 2009I just ordered a driver on line and that is all I own. I’m going to practice driving at a virtual golf place until it gets warmer outside. I am an absolute beginner. What would be the minimum clubs I would need to actually play a round? I am an older (54) female so think the hybrids would be good for me. I am not actually looking for brand recommendations here, but club types. That said, the Callaway GES system sounds good to me because it apparently only has seven clubs which sounds about right to me but I am having trouble finding it. Does anyone know how I could replicate that buying individual clubs? I don’t really want a full set, at least not yet. And carrying 14 clubs around, many of which I probably wouldn’t use at least not soon, sounds like a waste of energy. So what is the minimum and what are they? Please be specific because a lot of what I have read is pretty confusing. So many choices! Thanks.
What kind of golf clubs should I get as a beginner?
November 17th, 2009I am trying to get into golf now that I have more time away from work and some money to afford new clubs and green fees. I played in the past, but not even close to good. Just played because it was fun. Now, I am going to take lessons and try to become reasonably good, so I want to get clubs that will be good to learn with, but also be clubs that I will have for a few years. My bro-in-law recommended the new Callaway Clubs, so any info on those clubs would be greatly appreciated, or any ideas for my club selection would also be greatly appreciated!
What type of golf clubs does a beginner need for a round of golf?
November 7th, 2009I just finished up a golf class last week put on by ESPN in which they gave you a set of Nike Ignite clubs to get started, namely; 4-9 irons, pw, 3-hybrid and a putter. I added a cheap driver (which I’m planning on upgrading to a Nike Summo) and a Wilson 58 deg sand wedge as well. I have played the past two months with this set and feel that I may need more fairway clubs especially for the 5 pars. I’m getting mixed up between some saying I need a 3 and a 5 wood while others say I need 5, 7 and 9 wood. As well, I’m mixed up whether I should get hybrids (like the #3 that I have) to take the place of the woods. Does anyone have suggestions on what I should get to complete my set? BTW, I do like wedges and would like to add either a LW or a GW to my set. Thanks!
